Greetings to all of our Manistique Area Schools Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers!
Let me introduce myself. My name is Matt Lukshaitis, the new superintendent of schools, and I am excited to be an Emerald! This will be my 11th year as a superintendent and year number 31 in education. I have been an English and physical education teacher, assistant principal, athletic director, and high school building principal. I look forward to meeting and working with you and your students.
My goal is to empower our building principals and staff in preparing students for a successful life. I don’t have all the answers, but I am here to help strengthen those areas of school, student,
and community need wherever possible. By working alongside great people—and we have plenty—I hope to add value to our school district’s vision and mission. As I get my feet wet, I look forward to hearing your ideas—as a group and individually. If you would like to meet, please send me an e-mail or drop by so we can set aside some time to talk. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who have already stopped in and begun those conversations.
Strong relationships build strong school systems. We are here to partner with you in the education of the community’s kids.
If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, feel free to contact me at 906-252-4300 or via email at [email protected].
Thank you to all those who help our students shine!
Go Emeralds!
Matt Lukshaitis, Superintendent
